Thomas Culbert has the academic, operational and professional research experience to
make him uniquely qualified as a research and information retrieval expert. He provides
high-quality, cost-effective and time-saving information and research
services to organizations in a variety of sectors.
Mr. Culbert has over 12 years experience as a professional information researcher.
His business activities actively support the Association of Independent Information
Professionals' (AIIP) "Code of Ethical Business Practice". Mr. Culbert is connected
electronically with over 600 independent information professionals located in
20 countries. With these contacts and having direct access to some of the premiere
data base vendors (e.g. Dow Jones, DIALOG, NEXIS, etc.), he is able to provide
clients with an extensive network of sources for locating information.
As a former Air Force Officer, he has over 20 years of operational, staff and leadership
experience. He held successively higher level positions with the United States Air
Force Headquarters (Regional Plans & Policy), the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
(Politico-Military Affairs) and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (International
Security Affairs).
He has over six years experience working in the Washington
Inter-Agency arena working closely with officials at the Department of State, the National
Security Council, and other government agencies. Additionally, he worked in
international aviation operational and management positions for over 18 years.
His background includes official diplomatic assignments in Africa and the Middle East.
Mr. Culbert holds a Master of Aeronautical Science - Management from Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University (1993), a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs, Naval
Postgraduate School (1979) and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History
from Wisconsin State University - Superior. He is also a graduate of the National
Defense University and the State Department's Foreign Service Institute French
Language Program.
He is the co-author of a recently published book titled, PAN AFRICA Across the Sahara
in 1941 with Pan Am (1998, Paladwr Press).
An active member of Association of Independent Information Professionals' (AIIP),
Mr. Culbert has served as chairman of the association's Referral Committee. He is also
active in several other professional associations including National Aeronautic
Association (NAA), International Aviation Club (IAC), Air Force Association (AFA),
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Alumni Association and the Experimental Aircraft
Association (EAA).
